Expanding my horizon’s lately.
I engaged in an online interview last week for a lettering gig, and the editor spent a few moments gushing over my doujinshi work. I won’t be taking the project (time constraints), but her praise got me thinking about Studio Plug n’Play and my fan comics days. I produced quite a catalog of material over the years, most of it in the mid-2000s.
Do I want to grab that laptop out of storage and review all that trash? My spouse reminded me that not all of my self-published work was fan-related; I did reproduce my authored graphic novels and had the rights to other things I’ve written, given back to me. He suggested I put everything up together for posterity and let people take a look at the work I’ve done.
Bee in my bonnet, it’s been slow progress sifting through all I’ve done and half-way completed. There are finished comics that need scanning, first-draft manuscripts that need revisions, and digital graphic novels waiting for eReader optimization. I rediscovered some brilliant material on that laptop that I’m dying to clean up and release–time permitting; I just posted the latest episode of Femitokon (I’ll never put that on hold).
My posted self-published works will be located at ‘Circle G.’ Realistically? I expect it to be up and running by 1/2020–sounds like a long time to wait but there’s a TON of material and web sites aren’t built in five minutes.
FYI – I’ve discovered Golden Kamuy.
I know a lot of you are macking on Ogata, but I literally married a gaijin version of Tanigaki. I want to thank all you Matagi stans for writing Ogata Hyakunosuke/Tanigaki Genjirou fics. Shit, I even love the canon stuff because I think Inkarmat is one of coolest female characters in a Japanese historical and I would’ve found her not seducing Tanigaki to be completely out of character!
